The Story Behind The Name
Your self-catering accommodation The Graces is named in tribute to two remarkable women – both born on the same island, both sharing the same name, and both later becoming part of the same family.
Their genuine hospitality reflected the true spirit of Achill, a legacy that continues to guide us to this day.
This lodge is our home away from home, shaped by their warmth and welcome. While you’re here, we hope The Graces becomes a home for you too – somewhere to relax, unwind, and experience the island they loved so much.

Rooms and Amenities Guide
Kitchen
A fully equipped, modern kitchen featuring an electric oven, microwave, gas hob, dishwasher, and all essential cookware.
Cleaning items are stored in the tall press beside the sliding glass door.
Coasters and chopping boards are provided for guest use.
Board games are available in the TV unit and coffee table drawers.
Living Room
A bright, comfortable space with a smart TV (Netflix, RTÉ Player, etc.) and a coffee table – coasters provided.
The typewriter is decorative.
A large selection of books is available in the porch library; guests may exchange a book if they’d like to take one home.
Master Bedroom (En-suite)
Features a super-king bed, bedside lockers, a chest of drawers, and adjustable room temperature.
Fresh towels and bed linen are provided, with extra pillows and towels stored in the top drawers.
A clothes rack is also available.
Utility / Back Hall
Includes a washing machine and tumble dryer.
This area contains heating system controls and is not suitable for unsupervised children.
Sitting Room
Located upstairs, the sitting room features Chesterfield sofas, tub chairs, and beautiful views, along with curated photos and artwork.
Bedroom 2
Includes a double bed, bedside locker, chest of drawers, and stool.
Bedroom 3
Includes bunk beds, a chest of drawers, and a stool.
Bathrooms
All bathrooms include hand soap and spare toilet rolls.
Guests should bring their own shampoo, shower gel, and hair-styling tools.
Hair dryers and straighteners are not provided.
Fire Safety & First Aid
A fire extinguisher and first aid kit are stored in the cupboard above the oven.
Please notify the owner if either is used.
House Rules
- Remember to close your windows at night time. Storms are very strong on the island and we do not leave the windows open when the weather turns.
- Whilst it is a detached house and our nearest neighbours are 150 meters away please be mindful of noise outside.
- Please do not park your car on the terrace at the side of the house.
- Do not interfere or press any valves or buttons on the Air to Water machine.
- Please do not remove anything from the house as it belongs to the us and we are placing our trust in you.
- Smoking is not allowed indoors
- Pets are not allowed
- Please use coasters on the kitchen counters and coffee tables
- Please make sure you’ve locked the house after your stay.
- As we are conscious of the environment, we would like to ask you to refer to our Green Policy during your stay.
- If you have booked directly with us and have never stayed before then on top of the agreed rate for your stay you will be asked to revolut over a breakage deposit 24 hours before check of €100.
This will be transferred back to you after we have checked the house on departure.
If there are any breakages or damage then the amount to replace or fix will be deducted from the deposit.
