Green policy at The Graces

Our Goal

At The Graces, sustainability is at the heart of everything we do. Our goal is to operate responsibly, minimise our environmental impact, and create a more sustainable future for anyone staying with us and with our Island community.

Air to Water – The Graces uses air to water as a heating source and is considered a renewable energy technology because it extracts heat from the outside air, a naturally replenished source. While it uses electricity to run the pump, it is highly efficient and can produce up to five times the amount of energy it consumes, making it a sustainable alternative to fossil fuels

Refillable Toiletries – All guest bathrooms at The Graces now feature refillable products, helping to eliminate single-use plastics while providing guests with an elevated, high-quality experience.

We encourage guests to use their towels and bed linens multiple times during their stay to reduce water, energy, and detergent consumption

The house is an A2 rated house due to the high level of insulation, triple glazing windows and the use of renewable energy

Our lighting is energy efficient and the outside lights are solar powered

Waste bins in the kitchen are segregated into domestic, compost and recyclable.

All coffee grounds, tea bags and appropriate food scraps are composted in our garden supporting healthy soil and reducing organic waste.

We urge guests to leave the bottles into the bottle banks located on the island and also to avail of the re-turn deposit scheme for cans, plastic bottles which is located at Supervalu in The Sound
